The 13th Annual PC Gamer Awards Reveals The Best Of The Best For 2006

February 2, 2007

Game of the Year and Best of 10 Genres To Be Featured In March Issue

South San Francisco, CA (February 2, 2007) – The year 2006 may go down in history as the year when Britney and K-Fed broke up, Borat won a Golden Globe, and World of Warcraft was featured on South Park. But while the world tuned-in to see Borat pick up his golden statue, gamers everywhere anxiously awaited to read Editor-in-Chief, Greg Vederman, and his talented team of editors preach the gospel on 2006’s most highly acclaimed games in the March issue of PC Gamer Magazine, on stands now.

PC Gamer drew up a list of approximately seventy-five of the highest-rated games released in 2006, sorted by genre. The expert panel, made up of all the PC Gamer editors, then dissected, discussed, and voted on their personal favorites while consuming many, many slices of pizza and downing a lot of diet Coke.

It was their devotion to Gaming Goodness™ (as well as their impressive gastric fortitude) that saw them through to the end!

The 11 winners of the 13th Annual PC Gamer Awards are:
• Game of the Year—Company of Heroes by THQ
• Best Action Game and Best Multiplayer Game—Prey by 2K Games
