Future US Promotes Tom Valentino to New COO Position to Manage Current and Plannned Growth

John Sutton Named New CFO
South San Francisco, CA – Future US, a leading publisher of cutting-edge enthusiast magazines and websites, announced today that current chief financial officer Tom Valentino has been named to the newly-created post of chief operating officer, according to president Jonathan Simpson-Bint.
John Sutton, most recently of Fawcette Publishing, has been hired as the new CFO. Valentino is currently working with Sutton in a 60 to 90-day transition period over finance-related responsibilities. Both men will be based at the company’s new South San Francisco headquarters.
As COO, Valentino will be charged with developing and managing internal systems related to current expansion in print and online. He will remain a key member of both the management and executive teams and continue to work on broad strategic issues and growing the company through launches and acquisitions.
Tom Valentino Bio
A CPA at Deloitte and Touche before getting into publishing in 1986, Tom Valentino went on to become the chief financial officer for GP Publications in 1992 and was an integral part of the team that joined forces with Future Publishing UK.
Working side-by-side with company president Jonathan Simpson-Bint since 1993, Tom's been involved with all financial and administrative aspects of the company's change and growth. During his career at Future, in addition to finance, Tom has also had oversight of all administration functions including IT, facilities and HR.
Tom is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He now resides in the Bay Area with his wife and five children.
John Sutton Bio
Until recently, John was the CFO of Fawcette Publishing, a privately owned technical magazine publisher, web publisher and event organization based in the south bay. Previously, John was also the CFO at Miller Freeman.
